Toledo, a World Heritage City. A small accessible city that captures the wealth of Spain’s history better than any other.
Its architecture is spectacular and it is home to one of the greatest concentrations of art in all of Europe. It may well be said that the city is a monument in itself.

Yet it also has a lively modern vibe: a reference point to both the past and the future. It is home to a vibrant craft market where traditional skills are valued and actively promoted. Toledo steel is known throughout the world. The range and quality of hand-crafted products from table ware to hunting knives and even regimental swords is unique. As are its ceramics, leather ware and damasquine ware that has its origins in the Islamic conquests of Middle Ages.

Toledo is also noted for its contemporary cuisine, fine wines and traditional artisan foods and unique marzipan that also forms a part of its Islamic heritage. In 2016 Toledo was chosen as the Spanish Gastronomy Capital;a world of tempations awaits foodies and traditionalists alike.
Throughout its long history, Toledo has been famed by many and colourful epithets. These provide a kind of register of its historic importance and include such evocative nomenclature as:: land of Don Quixote, Capital of the Visigothic Spain, City of the Three Cultures, Jerusalem of the West, Crucible of magic and the dark arts, Spain’s Cathedral City, Sephardic Centre Arabic labyrinth, inspiration of El Greco, citadel of El Cid, Imperial City, kingdom of legends…

LOCATION

Toledo is located in the center of Spain, only 71 km away from Madrid and 80 km from Barajas International Airport.

This provides a privileged access to the main public transportation in the country because most of them are centralized in the capital. Other interesting cities that you will be able to visit include Córdoba, Valencia, Granada, Salamanca, Barcelona, Sevilla, Santiago de Compostela……

Public transportation between Toledo and Madrid is available by train and by highway. Buses depart every 30 minutes from both cities, and make the route in approximately 50 minutes. The high speed train takes only 25 minutes for the same trip.

I had an excellent experience as an intermediate adult learner at Aula Toledo. My teacher, Isabel, kept classes moving... with varied lesson formats, with content expertly tailored to the particular students in our small class. The entire staff was highly organized and professional, as well as warm and kind. Everyone was ready with practical information and assistance to help the students get the most out of our time in Toledo. The facility was lovely, and pricing was transparent and fair. It has been a blast visiting Spain for the first time and studying Spanish in a very beautiful and historic city such... as Toledo. Our group with Aula Toledo for 6 weeks and our professor David was very helpful and intelligent and was very patient with our level of Spanish. I believe he has helped me and other students from my group have a greater appreciation for the language, as well as Spanish culture. I had one week of one-on-one class in Aula Toledo in June 2024. It was a fantastic week as Isabel, my teacher, taught... me so many things about Spanish history in a very systematic way. She is very knowledgeable and knows very well how to teach it to foreigners.Maite, the head of the school, is very nice and helpful. She knows extremely well about Toledo and creates good facilities and environment to study. I’ve been to quite a few language schools in Spain, but Aula Toledo is definitely one of the best. Very friendly... teaching staff that make you feel at home from day one and provide you with heaps of information on Toledo and cultural events to make sure you don’t get bored during your stay. Toledo may not be a big city, but there is quite a bit happening there apart from the obvious tourist attractions. I had two weeks of private classes at B 2 level and made a huge leap forward thanks to the untiring efforts of my dedicated and resourceful teacher Isabel. In May I took a two-week course in Spanish conversation. It was a one to one private course of 2 hours per day.I am... very enthusiastic about the school and its teachers who did their very best to help me improve my Spanish.Isabella's classes were varied as well as instructive. Apart from that she informed me daily about beautiful Toledo, its many places of interest and all the activities the city had to offer. I was there in the week of Corpus Cristi, with all its preparations, concerts and performances, which made it special.Thanks to Aula I was able to visit sights and activities that I would never have visited on my own.The Aula team take personal interest in their students and their private course is tailor-made. I just finished 5 weeks of one on one Spanish classes here and both the teachers and staff bent over backwards from day... 1, not only helping me improve my Spanish skills, but making my overall experience in Toledo a memorable and meaningful one. The teachers and staff are very welcoming, the school has an intimate feel and all the teachers I had the pleasure of working with were extremely intelligent and professional.I feel like it was the best money I've ever spent and can't wait to return for another stint of classes in the spring if I can make it happen!read more

I spent a week in Aula Toledo and loved it. I was worried before the course I might not enjoy it so only booked a week,... but I honestly wish I'd booked longer. I will definitely go back in future.The location, course and teacher were all fantastic. I originally chose a group class but switched to 1 to 1 lessons that were really helpful. The city is lovely and very close to Madrid, so it’s easy to get to/from the airport to the school, or if you just wanted to spend a day visiting Madrid that’s no problem.100% recommended!read more

I spent a week learning Spanish in Aula Toledo. I'd known little about my future group before arriving, but it... perfectly fit my level. I could improve and practise speaking a lot with our professional, helpful and kind teacher. We really enjoyed our learning experience with Aula Toledo. My son took classes for the month of July. It was a great... investment of his time. I spent two weeks in class and learned a lot, it was time well spent The instructor was excellent. Aula Toledo offers smaller class sizes which was one of our reasons for picking them over other language schools in Spain. The location of the school is good. Madrid is close for doing excursions.read more
